Grantchester Meadows

On the south side of Cambridge, Grantchester Meadows is an open flood plain with the River Cam winding through it to provide a habitat for swans, herons and other wildlife. Attractive weeping willow trees are spaced out alongside the river which leads to an area of marsh woodland on the edge of Cambridge and onto Lammas Land and the City Centre. Walks can extend from the Meadows into farmland to loop back into Grantchester village with its famous Orchard Tea Room.
